Great fit and an accurate barrel too!
by Patrick Radley
This was part of my first AR build I had done in 10 years. Rebuilt an old rifle I did not like shooting anymore. The fit and finish were great and the rebuilt rifle shot very accurate. I got this Barrel at a greatt sale. It was a winner!
Fairly disappointed

I am a bit disappointed with this barrel. Wanted something shorter and lighter.
I took this barrel to the range and put it against16 inch competitor SPR profile mil-spec chrome lined barrel. The Faxon barrel was 50% less precise. I put both rifles on sand bags.
Tried Winchester 55gr 556 white box, PXM X-Tac 62 grain 556, Norma "match" 62gr 556 and Black Hills SMK 77gr 556.
Faxon barrel would barely make a 4 inch circle at 200 yards. At 300 yards I was struggling to hit a 6 inch gong. Then I took my other AR and walked it from 200 yards to 600 yards hitting 6inch gong at 300 yards with ease. I needed to convince myself it was the barrel, not me.
Anyways, I looked inside the Faxon barrel and saw lots of burrs where chamber meets rifling. Also to my untrained eye the rifling looked much less concentric than the competitor barrel.
I might have gotten lemon, who knows. But for sure a big disappointment.
Barrel is light, that is why I gave it 2 stars.
Put 60 rounds through it after a self install with SOTAR principles.

All I have to say is that this barrel cloverleafs, at the worst, for a CQB set-up. Rock on.
Good starter barrel

This is a good barrel if you’re starting an AR build. No issues so far. Only con is that its a bit on the heavy side for my liking. Other than that I would recommend and buy it for myself again.
Great Quality and Accurate

I replaced a PSA pencil barrel with this barrel. The SOCOM contour added a little more weight but the groups went from 3"+ @ 100 yards to the 1" range @ 100 yards. I highly recommend this barrel.

This a very well finished barrel ,a work of art really. I have only shot it a little to sight it in,l have a red dot on it so it is hard to test accuracy at 100 yds. but it is accurate for a red dot.
