Great but has a flaw. May be just mine.

Very nice finish. Great looking bcg. Haven’t shot it yet. However.... The cotter pin that holds the firing pin in pertruds out of the hole and doesn’t allow the bcg to fit inside the upper. You can force it in but it’ll rub threw the upper. Disappointed.... so besure to check yours if you buy.

Nice Product

Finish is exceptional. Works flawlessly and was priced very good.

We are happy to bring you great products at very good prices.

Too Many Issues

by -

This Faxon BCG had some serious issues:
1. Gas key was misaligned
2. Approximately 0.009” clearance between bolt tail and carrier. Way too much.
3. Very rough finish inside carrier in gas ring area.

The BCG would usually extract and eject the first round but never pick up the second round. Swapped BCG into other gun and that AR had the same problems. I return the Faxon BCG and bought a Microbest. The rifle runs fine now.

Primary Arms customer service was great.

excellent bolt carrier

What Staking?

by -

Almost nonexistent gas key staking. Just a tiny dimple to the point it looks entirely superficial and not actually a functioning stake. Returning this and buying a different brand.

Poor QC

by -

Seemed to have lathe marks all over the bolt carrier. Staking was nearly non-existent on the gas key. The firing pin hole was strangely large with lots of wiggle compared to other 556 bolts I have. I returned it for a refund and bought a different brand from Primary Arms. 5 star review for PA's return policy.

gas key staking

works great, gas key staking is purely cosmetic. I reached out to faxon and they said that's normal

To start I've had about 7 of these bcgs on the ones I've had fit and finish were excellent gas key properly stacked and aligned I didn't have any tool marks but the firing pin retainer is too stiff to be inserted properly so I replace that. Other than that they last me about 6-8,000 rounds before the bolt head starts breaking in a sbr that's acceptable. On a fee handloads I did blow a few primers no damage to the bolt other than cleaning the metal off
