The Federal Fusion Tipped 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak load builds on the proven Fusion terminal performance with a polymer tip that increases ballistic coefficient, flattens trajectory, and boosts downrange energy for extended effective range. The 155gr Fusion Tipped bullet carries a G1 BC of .613 and reaches 2900 fps with Peak Alloy case technology.
The Federal Fusion Tipped 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak is a hunting ammunition load designed for big game at extended distances, combining the polymer-tipped Fusion bullet with an electro-chemically bonded copper jacket and Peak Alloy case technology for velocity beyond standard brass-case 6.5 Creedmoor.
The polymer tip paired with a skived nose cavity initiates consistent, lethal expansion while also improving ballistic coefficient and reducing wind drift and drop compared to a soft-point Fusion design. The copper jacket is electro-chemically bonded to the lead core, producing a perfectly uniform jacket and the high weight retention and deep penetration that define the Fusion line. The bonded construction maintains bullet integrity for deep penetration while the polymer tip and skived cavity ensure reliable expansion initiation. Muzzle velocity is 2900 fps. Peak Alloy case technology enables higher chamber pressures than conventional brass cases, producing 300 fps more velocity than standard brass-case 6.5 Creedmoor loads and 100 fps more than 6.5 PRC through existing 6.5 Creedmoor rifles. A 20-inch barrel firing this load produces the same velocity as a 24-inch barrel 6.5 PRC.
A practical choice for deer hunters and big game hunters running 6.5 Creedmoor rifles who want the terminal performance of the Fusion bonded bullet in a tipped, higher-BC configuration with the velocity advantage of the Peak Alloy case.
Federal Ammunition manufactures the Fusion line of bonded hunting ammunition using an electro-chemical bonding process and Federal-sourced components for consistent terminal performance in the field.
