Off-body concealed PDW carry creates problems a standard sling doesn't solve. Without a sling, weapon retention is a concern if the bag is dropped or grabbed. Without a way to stage the weapon in a semi-ready state, a user needing both hands free, or needing to climb a ladder or wall, has nowhere secure to put the PDW. Slings built for full-size rifles also tend to be too bulky for a bag gun, so they don't stow small enough and end up snagging on deployment, which costs precious time. The Ripcord is built specifically to solve all three problems: it stays out of the way when not needed and deploys quickly when it is. Note that the Ripcord should not be used with the Raider 365 unless the platform's FCU manual safety is installed.
