The effective design of the 1815 draws inspiration from the muzzle device found on the original Armalite AR 18/180 series rifles, modernized and tweaked for superior performance. The integrated wire cutter feature includes dual notches at the 12 and 6 o'clock position designed to line up and hold wires. The abbreviated prongs even prevent the annoying tuning fork ring that is so common with open ended muzzle devices. Simple, clean, and effective, the 1815 is an excellent option for your next AR-15 build.
Forward Controls Design firmly believes in the elegance of simplicity. Not content to produce purely aesthetic components, they put function before form to create parts and accessories that actually improve the handling and function of your firearms. When you need parts that just work without complication, you need Forward Controls Design.

Very nice, modern take on the A2 birdcage

This muzzle device, like everything else from FCD, was machined very well and is pretty much perfect. Reminds me of the standard A2 flash hider but updated with some new features. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but its supposed to hide the flash and reduce muzzle rise better than an A2 so hopefully it performs as good as it looks.
Amazing flash suppressor

Last fall I was challenged to do a 7.5” 5.56 build by someone at BA who I had been exchanging emails with on the subject. I put together an upper using all of their parts and when it came time for a muzzle device, I purchased several devices that pushed the muzzle blast forward. While waiting for these other devices to come in, I had this fcd muzzle device that I decided to try. I had been warned of rough concussive blasts coming from a 7.5” barrel, but in combination with an A5 buffer setup, it ran as smooth as any 10-12” seconds hat I owned. There was no harsh muzzle blast using this device and I felt that muzzle flash was very manageable. After receiving all the other specialized stuff, this device out performed at everything. No concussive blast, and I can still shoot this under nods without blinding myself. For shorter barrels it really helps tame that muzzle flash.
