The Forward Controls Design Stripped AR-15 Upper Receiver adds relief cuts above the charging handle for easier access to a flip-up BUIS or other rear sight element. Built on a TDP-spec forged upper platform, this receiver gives shooters a mil-spec base with one useful accessibility upgrade over a standard forging.
Features:
- Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum forgings
- Hardcoat anodized per MIL-A-8625F, Type III, Class 2
- Relief cuts above the charging handle for BUIS access
- M16/Auto sear pocket
- Accepts a forward assist, not installed
Based on a TDP-spec forged upper receiver, this design is manufactured and modified for Forward Controls Design by Centurion Arms, and finished in a Type III hardcoat black anodize for corrosion and wear resistance. The relief cuts and chamfers above the charging handle, ahead of where the Picatinny rail begins, make it easier to grip and manipulate a flip-up rear sight or similar rail-mounted element without interference from the receiver body.
Like other TDP-spec A3 upper receivers, this model can accommodate a forward assist assembly, but it does not ship with one installed, so builders should plan to source that part separately if their configuration requires it.
Forward Controls Design partners with established manufacturers like Centurion Arms to produce refined AR-15 components focused on practical, real-world usability improvements.
