Forward Controls Design EMR - Dimpled - Short - Ambi AR-15 Magazine Release
Details
Details
The Forward Controls Design EMR-A is an ambidextrous magazine release developed through two years of iterative prototyping specifically to solve the interference and ergonomic shortcomings common to ambi mag catches. The lever placement closely mirrors the factory right-side button position, the lower portion is profiled to avoid bolt catch interference, and a 10.9 lb rated spring replaces the factory 8.3 lb spring to prevent accidental drops during slung carry with gear and pouches.
The EMR-A catch is CNC machined from 4140 steel with black nitride coating. The lever is 7075 aluminum with Type 3 hard coat anodize. Compatible with standard .223/5.56 AR-15 receivers. Short lever version.
The lever's serrated section uses two distinct patterns — 80% shallow V-shaped serrations that conform to the curvature of the finger for a natural purchase, and 20% straight serrations at the end that form an index point and provide additional traction for precise, repeatable actuation. The section immediately below the bolt catch's lower paddle is profiled lower and left smooth to eliminate the interference that plagues most competing ambi mag catch designs. The included 10.9 lb rated magazine catch spring is a mandatory part of the EMR-A package — the stiffer spring prevents unintended magazine drops when the lever is inadvertently contacted during slung carry or while brushing against gear. Designed for .223 AR-15 receivers.
