The Forward Controls Design Gas Tube Pin Tool solves the problem inherent with installing a new gas tube pin on a low profile gas block. That problem is because gas blocks don't have any flat surfaces on them, you have to simultaneously hold the block steady, hold the pin steady, and tap the pin into place. The GPT simplifies this process by fitting over the gas block and retaining the pin, so that all you have to do is tap it in. The GPT works with most gas blocks, including: Modern Armory, Forward Controls Gas Block, BCM, Rainier, VLTOR, Knight's Armament, Badger Ordnance, Daniel Defense, SLR, and other blocks built to the original Crane Mk12 specification.

Features:

  • MAX gas block length: 1.00
  • MAX gas block height: 1.35

Forward Controls Gas Tube Pin Tool is also finished in an earth-green tone. This was done purposefully to provide contrast when working on the gas block since most gas blocks are flat black. It also uses a small but powerful magnet to allow the gas tube pin to stand upright.

Borderline Perfection

I have been building rifles for a long time, I have damage to my hands so there’s a couple things that give me a hard time when I’m building and the gas tube pin is one of them… I made my own out of wood a number of years ago and it finally failed so I was looking for a suitable replacement, since I use so many different companies on a build I was hesitant to spend the money “in hopes” that this would work somewhat universally. I was pleasantly surprised, I have now used it to pin; vseven, geiselle, bte, radical, slr and lantac. It was not a perfect fit for a few of them but the design made it work without any issue. It clamped very well with out being damaged itself, the slr really had to be smacked and it stayed put and took the abuse, did not marr any of them at all and was very intuitive. I’m very happy with the purchase and don’t see myself ever needing to replace it!

Does not work for a lot of adjustable gas blocks. Anything with an adjustment screw that is not flush to the front of gas block will not fit in the cut-out

Makes it easier

Makes punching in the roll pin so much easier than just having it on the table or putting it in a vise.

Great tool

I wish I had found this years ago. It would have made life so much easier and saved on many a destroyed roll pin.

Good.... but not great

This does not work with the Aero Precision low pro gas block

Great product

As always another quality product from FCD and excellent shipping times from Primary Arms. Very nicely made, finish is great BUT BEWARE THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK WITH A BALLISTIC ADVANTAGE LOW PRO GAS BLOCK. The gas block is a tad too long. I learned this the hard way unfortunately.

Must have for building uppers

Worst time of any build is trying to put something together and you can’t get it right, this gas tube tool will reduce time on gas blocks and make it easier to pin your tubes or replace them.

Worth it

by -

Fit low profile gas blocks, had to trim the block to fit adjustable ones. Once trimmed it was easy pest to get that perky gas tube pin in and out.

It does the job

Works as intended but won't seat right if you have an adjustable gas block. I had the slr adjustable gas block and did the want to remove the adjustment screw but found a way to seat it to make it work.
