The Forward Controls Design SBCG Serrated is an M16-profile nitride bolt carrier group built on the same OCKS gas key retention, 9310 MPI bolt, and individual test-fire standard as the Dimpled variant — with serrations in place of dimples on the carrier's concave surface for silent forward-assist-free bolt closing.

The Forward Controls Design SBCG Serrated is an M16-profile nitride bolt carrier group designed for AR-15 and M16/M4 platform rifles, featuring OCKS gas key screws and a serrated carrier surface for silent bolt closure on uppers without a forward assist.

Four features define the SBCG's edge over standard M16 carriers. The OCKS (Optimized Carrier Key Screws) feature knurling extending to the top of the screw head that forms gear-tooth engagement when staked — FCD testing found OCKS removal torque averaging 132 in-lb versus approximately 76 in-lb for standard screws, providing a significant retention margin. Serrations machined into the concave area forward of the gas vents allow the bolt to be closed silently on non-forward-assist uppers while remaining fully compatible with forward-assist-equipped receivers via retained pawl notches. The 9310 bolt is MPI tested, shot peened, stress relieved, and fitted with a Sprinco 5-coil heavy duty extractor spring for consistent extraction. Each SBCG is individually test fired before shipment.

Compatible with AR-15, M16, and M4 platform uppers. Serrated carrier is compatible with both forward assist and non-forward-assist upper receivers.

8620 steel carrier machined to USGI specifications. 9310 steel bolt, MPI tested. Mil-spec gas key, heat treated and NP3 coated. Nitride finish on bolt, carrier, and cam pin. Made in the USA.
