Details

The cam pin is a part of your rifle that pretty much shooters put any thought into. Whenever we clean our BCG, we'll just reinstall the cam pin without thinking about how it can wear. According to School of the American Rifle (SOTAR)'s Chad Albrecht, this can lead to poor fit and speed up wear on the bolt. Extra wear on the bolt means more bolts breaking. The SOTAR Cam Pin from Forward Controls Design features a dimpled witness mark allowing you to install the cam pin in a consistent orientation to reduce wear and improve the parts life of your bolt.

Far too expensive.

This cam pin elegantly implements a concept which has been gaining a bit of popularity recently. My modest rating is not at all an indictment of the quality of the part, but rather its price. Frankly, it is much too expensive for what is just a cam pin with a coating and a dot on it. High quality cam pins sell for less than half the price of this one.

Fantastic Design

Bought four of these to replace the cam pins in Microbest, JP enhanced, Toolcraft NiB and nitride carriers. Very tight fit in all cases, these fit much tighter than the JP pin and slightly tighter than the microbest pin. Very slick coating and the witness mark is a notable improvement! I’ll continue to purchase these
