Running a suppressed or short-barreled AR means dealing with gas blowback on every shot — the Geissele Airborne Charging Handle is engineered to change that equation.
The Airborne Charging Handle (ACH) is an ambidextrous charging handle designed for AR-15 platforms where reliability under harsh conditions is non-negotiable.
A raised rear lip actively diverts propellant gas away from the shooter's face, making the ACH particularly well-suited for suppressed and short-barrel configurations. The dual-contoured levers provide positive, confident engagement from either side of the rifle, while checkered lever surfaces ensure a secure grip even when wearing gloves or working in wet conditions. Low-profile lever geometry reduces the risk of snagging on plate carriers, slings, or other gear during dynamic movement.
The ACH is designed for standard AR-15 upper receivers and is compatible with mil-spec upper receiver extensions across a wide range of AR-pattern rifles and pistols.
Machined from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with a Type III hardcoat anodize in Desert Dirt Color (DDC), the ACH delivers excellent surface hardness and corrosion resistance. Note that DDC finish shades can vary between products and batches by design and are not intended to color-match across components.
The ACH is an ideal upgrade for suppressor hosts, SBR builds, competition rifles, and any AR where an ambidextrous, gas-mitigating charging handle adds a tactical or practical advantage.
Geissele Automatics has built a reputation for precision-machined components that meet the demands of military, law enforcement, and serious civilian shooters.
