The Geissele Automatics Super Modular Rail MK8 is a purpose-built ultra-light free float handguard for AR-15 shooters who want maximum accessory mounting flexibility without carrying the weight of a heavier duty rail. Designed around weight reduction without sacrificing the rigidity that Geissele's barrel nut system delivers.
The Geissele Automatics SMR MK8 is a 13.5-inch ultra-light free float AR-15 handguard machined from 7000-series aluminum with M-LOK slots on five surfaces for accessories and heat venting.
At 13.3 ounces, the MK8 is one of the lightest handguards in the Geissele lineup for its length — a meaningful advantage on a competition rifle, hunting build, or any platform where carrying weight adds up across a long day. M-LOK slots on five sides double as heat venting ports that pull heat away from the barrel during sustained fire, keeping the handguard cooler to the touch and the optic mounting surface more stable under temperature. The full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail provides a solid, uninterrupted optic mounting base from receiver to the front of the handguard. Geissele's proprietary barrel nut increases surface contact with the receiver for improved accuracy and repeatability of zero after the handguard is removed for maintenance.

Recieved my order from Primary Arms quickly, as normal. Had the barrel nut installed quickly since I also ordered the installation tool at the same time. Everything went together on a SOLGW stripped upper. Handguard feels great in the hand and looks gorgeous. Already contemplating buying another Geissele handguard for another build!

Great handguard. This is my second one. Only downside is that I did receive a gas block with my other handguard. Unsure why this one did not come with one. When i noticed the gas block was missing I did check on website and it doesn't state that the gas block is included. No big deal still a great deal from Primary Arms.

Great product! Beautifully built. Fit & finish are perfect. Easy install (with proper tools). Locks up nice and tight on the barrel nut & rifle. I installed this on my DDM4 Carbine and it looks great. The intructions are easily understandable and lets you know exactly what other items you'll need if you want to pin the (supplied) gas block to the barrel. A barrel nut wrench is also included. I would highly recomend this product to anyone who's looking for a high quality, great looking handguard/rail.

I forgot to mention, it even came with the Giessele Lo-pro gas block! Which also was a perfect fit and functions flawlessly. The supplied instructions are simple to follow and even includes the proper equipment needed to install the gas block.

Great rail system! Easy install, perfect fit, and locks up tight. Fit and finish is outstanding as well. Perfect length on my DDM4 Carbine. Very comfortable feel in your hand. You'll need to purchase M-Lok rail sections seperately. I went with a 5 slot aluminum rail on the bottom (for GG&G Bipod & Tango Down Stubby QD), and two 3 slot aluminum rail sections for 3'oclock & 9 o'clock positions. There's no way anyone could not like this rail. Giessele did another great job, and you can't beat the price! As usual, super fast shipping by PA. Thanks to everyone at PA!

I own three of these now. The craftsmanship is flawless, fit is perfect and they are rock solid. The price is high but so is the quality. It is not the lightest or skinniest rail on the market but it is an absolute workhorse.
