The Geissele Automatics Super Modular MK8 AR-15 handguard is an ultra-modular free float rail built to give shooters full accessory flexibility without adding weight. One of the first rails designed around Magpul's M-LOK system, this handguard keeps your build light, cool, and rigid.
- M-LOK slots on five sides
- M-LOK at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions plus the upper 45° quadrants
- Lower 45° quadrant venting for heat dissipation and reduced weight
- Full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail
- 7000-series aluminum construction

Geissele's proprietary 2" long barrel nut increases the contact area between the rail and receiver, creating a platform you can trust to stay straight and true along its full length. That translates to better accuracy and repeatable zero any time the handguard is removed for maintenance, whether you're swapping a gas block or servicing the upper.
This handguard is finished in Geissele's Desert Dirt Color (DDC), a hardcoat anodized finish designed to help break up a rifle's outline. Shade can vary between batches and isn't intended as a color match to other DDC parts.

The Ultimate Professional Handguard

When seeking a professional.grade handguard for a piston project, the Geissele MK8 was perfect at 13.5, for a 13.7 P2 mate.
With some machining to the gas channel and the barrel nut, an outstanding result is guarenteed. Geissele handguards are joining my favored DD and BCM versions, by surpassing them in many MUST HAVE facets.
Comfort and lack of odd bulk in areas that most companies get wrong, Im very happy with the fine details. These aspects prove the desire of the MK8 to be fully participant to the professional's needs. The barrel nut and captive design is outstanding. Alignment and security is assured thru redundancies that will assure a long lasting resource for accurate and solid activities. By far the best sling mounts! Absolutely embrace this design and execution to the ultimate handguard.

These Geissele rails are very nice. Better than most other rails I’ve owned. But the price is a little too much in my opinion. It’s just extruded aluminum, if all other manufacturers can sell them for under $200 so can Geissele...
I’d love to grab a few more but at the normal price I’ll just stick with other manufacturers.

Installed on my build and everything went smoothly. I had a “low profile” brand of clamp on style gas block that was contacting the rail so I had to swap to a set screw low profile style to fit correctly under the rail.
The two set screws, one on each side of the rail seem a bit of an odd design, but seems to work ok.
I own a BCM MCMR, an ALG, a matrix arms, and now this on various builds.
The Geissele is rock solid, but isn’t as comfortable as the BCM or ALG in hand. It’s the difference of holding a more cylindrical rail vs the more blocky Geissele.
Hard to go wrong, but if I were to buy another rail I think I’d opt for the BCM.

Geissle is renowned for their quality and this rail is no exception, finish is flawless, fit is perfect, and super rigid while staying lightweight. I was aprehensive about the DD finish not matching with FDE furniture but turns out to be a rather close shade in most lighting.
