The reciprocating shifting weights move independently inside the buffer body rather than as a single fixed mass, helping eliminate the bolt bounce that can cause malfunctions or inconsistent follow-up shots, particularly with FRT triggers where cyclic rate and timing matter most. The black nitride finish adds corrosion and wear resistance, while the orange neoprene head cushions impact at the rear of the buffer tube.
