Buying a Firearm Online
Firearms are regulated by the federal government and cannot be shipped directly to customers. Instead, all firearms must be shipped to an FFL (Federal Firearms License) holder.
Important: Before purchasing your firearm, we recommend searching online for FFL dealers in your local area. Most FFLs charge a transfer fee for handling the firearm transfer to you, and since there’s no standard fee, it’s a good idea to compare prices.
Applicable taxes are calculated based on the address of the FFL dealer you select, not your personal billing or shipping address. Please note that the FFL you select must be located in the same state where you reside.
Once you have located your preferred FFL, please log into your Primary Arms account and select the firearm you wish to purchase. If you are eligible to purchase a firearm (not prohibited by state or federal law), place the item into your cart and checkout.
Address Display
You may see your own address listed in the shipping details—don’t worry; we will not illegally ship the firearm to your personal address. All firearms will be shipped directly to the selected FFL.
FFL Selection
If you need more time to choose an FFL but want to reserve your item, you can select "I do not know my FFL" at checkout. Once you’ve selected a dealer, just contact us with the details. Please keep in mind that not providing an FFL at checkout may cause additional delays in processing your order.
During the check-out process, we will ask for your FFL information. Please enter their name, address, and phone number into this field. The entire order will ship to this FFL’s address, as we are unable to split shipments.
Tax Calculation
Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping address provided at checkout. As a result, tax rates may vary depending on the FFL dealer location selected.
Eligibility Requirements
Only the individual placing the order is eligible to complete the transfer. The customer account, billing address, credit card, and shipping information must all match.
Once your order has been placed, a sales order number will be provided. The order will then begin processing with our FFL team for shipment. Once shipped, an email will be sent with the tracking number, and the firearm will be sent directly to the FFL dealer requested.
Processing Time: For orders containing firearms that come from a separate warehouse, please allow up to 10 business days for the item to be available for shipping.
Once your firearm arrives, your FFL dealer will contact you to complete the necessary federal paperwork.
Legal Compliance Notice: Some states and local areas have restrictions on firearms, and magazines included with them. If you live in one of these areas, please review your state and local laws before placing an order.
We are unable to substitute magazines for ones with a lower capacity or make any modifications to firearms or their components before shipping. Also, all firearms must leave our warehouse in a legal, unaltered configuration. We cannot ship them to local FFLs for conversion to locally legal configuration.
