Hornady Match 223 Rem 73gr ELD-M takes .223 Rem precision to the level that heat-shield tip technology enables — a bullet that holds its published BC consistently at the high velocities the .223 cartridge generates, where standard polymer tips have already begun deforming and degrading long-range performance.
The Heat Shield tip resists aerodynamic heating that standard polymer tips don't, preserving the ELD-M's BC rating out to distances where the difference between a deformed tip and an intact one shows up as measurable vertical dispersion. At 73 grains, this ELD-Match load is optimized for the velocity and stability characteristics of 223 Rem at competition distances.
- Caliber: 223 Rem

Chambered for AR-15 and bolt-action varmint rifles. Optimal accuracy is realized with a barrel twist rate appropriate for 73gr at 223 Rem velocities — faster twists stabilize heavier bullets, but overstabilization at high velocity can degrade accuracy.
AMP jacket construction on ELD-Match loads holds concentricity to Hornady's tightest manufacturing spec. Every cartridge passes dimensional and velocity quality checks before it ships — nothing outside of specification leaves the Grand Island facility.
Used by PRS and NRL competitors, F-Class shooters, and military precision marksmen. Designed around J.W. Hornady's founding goal: "Ten bullets through one hole."
Hornady Match ammunition is manufactured in Grand Island, Nebraska to the standards that earned it a place on the firing line at the highest levels of precision rifle competition.
