The James Madison Tactical Black Ops trigger has remained one of the more popular drop-in trigger upgrades for nearly a decade, giving builders a genuinely lighter, smoother single-stage pull at a reasonable price.

Features:

  • Skeletonized straight-bow trigger for a faster, crisper single-stage pull
  • Stainless steel construction with a black finish
  • Pull weight reduced to approximately 3.5 to 4 lbs
  • Drop-in installation compatible with any mil-spec AR-15 or LR-308 lower receiver
  • Includes anti-walk pins to keep the hammer and trigger from slipping during operation
  • Installs by punching out a couple of pins and dropping the assembly into place

Because the AR-15 platform is built around genuinely modular internals, installing the Black Ops trigger is as simple as removing the factory pins and dropping this assembly into their place, giving builders a meaningful performance upgrade in just a few minutes.

James Madison Tactical has offered the Black Ops trigger for nearly a decade, making it one of the more established drop-in trigger options on the market. That reliability shows up range trip after range trip, build after build. It's a genuine upgrade for anyone looking to improve their factory trigger feel. Installation follows standard AR-platform armorer procedures throughout.

Better than expected.

Got this on sale for an Aero build I did and it was fantastic, very smooth pull,no creep, fast reset. Think I'm getting one for my BCM ar as well.

Better than expected

I was expecting this trigger to be sort of a mid range single stage trigger. It’s better than that and it’s worth every penny. I have zero complaints about it. If you like a single stage trigger, look no further than this one here.

Hogs Beware

Not just a really nice looking drop-in.
Haven't took to the range yet, but the dry firing feels equal to a minimum price timney I've purchased. Just know it's going to perform beyond my ability as a regular 2A old man 👴 and that's the truth!

Heavier pull, rough edges, no creep, short reset

by

I've been impressed by JMT trigger's straight blades with softly relieved edges in my previous builds because of their softened feel and predictable performance. While this tactical blade is flat the edges aren't relieved like JMT's other Black Ops Straight D/I triggers - they're too sharply cut and rough for bare fingers. So, if "tactical" means that you're expecting to use gloves, then the sharp edges wouldn't matter much. But now the TP feels a bit heavier than the others - or it could just be the point load on my finger.
Though short, the creep has more drag to it, which I ascribe to the dry finish. Yet the reset remained short and quick as always.
I'll stick to JMT straight triggers with relieved edges, because they work so well.
