The Kel-Tec PMR30 is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 WMR, built on a fiber-reinforced Zytel nylon polymer frame with an aluminum alloy internal grip frame, a blued 4140 steel slide, and a 4.3-inch fluted 4140 steel barrel.

The hybrid blowback/locked-breech system automatically adjusts to the pressure of each round, providing reliable cycling across the spectrum of .22 WMR factory loads from standard velocity to high-velocity defensive ammunition. Dual opposing extractors provide redundant extraction reliability. A urethane recoil buffer and captive coaxial recoil springs soften the cycling impulse and extend component life. The flush-fit double-stack Zytel magazine features round count ports for an at-a-glance capacity check. A heel-mounted magazine release aids in magazine retention during carry and handling. The slide locks back after the last round and a manual slide lock lever is also provided. The crisp single-action trigger has an over-travel stop for a clean break. Fiber optic front and rear sights provide fast target acquisition in natural light. An integrated Picatinny accessory rail accepts lights and lasers.
