Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 - 1" - CDS - Duplex Reticle - SFP - Rifle Scope

The Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm CDS is the classic hunting scope magnification range paired with Leupold's Custom Dial System — transforming the most popular riflescope format in North America into a dial-to-distance platform that eliminates holdover estimation entirely. Range the target, dial the distance, aim dead-on.

The Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm CDS is a second focal plane riflescope with a 1-inch main tube, 40mm objective lens, Duplex reticle, and Custom Dial System elevation turret, finished in matte black.

The CDS turret is engraved to a shooter's specific load — bullet weight, muzzle velocity, and ballistic coefficient provided to Leupold, who produces a custom dial with distance markings that correspond directly to actual bullet drop rather than generic MOA values. Installation is straightforward at home with no tools required, and the dial ships ready to use once the load data is confirmed. The 3-9x magnification range covers the full spectrum of North American deer hunting distances from close timber shots to open field ranges, and the Duplex reticle's uncluttered center cross works cleanly with the CDS dial-to-distance approach. The Advanced Optical System delivers best-in-class glare reduction in harsh light and the resolution hunters need during low-light hunting windows. Fully waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof. Designed, machined, and assembled in the USA with a lifetime guarantee.
