The Luth-AR A1 Slick Side Upper Receiver is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and pairs an early-style carry handle with an integrated A1 rear sight for a true retro build. This slick-side design eliminates the forward assist for builders who want the classic, pre-forward-assist look.

Unlike the A1/C7 upper in the same retro lineup, which adds a forward assist and M4 feed ramps, this slick-side version leaves both off for builders chasing an earlier-era rifle profile. It still ships with the A1 sight and ejection port cover installed, so the core assembly is ready to pair with a barrel and BCG.

This is the base for a new build. I wanted a non forward assist (as I carried as a USAF Security Policeman in the early 70s). I'm very satisfied with the appearance and the lock up to the lower is a surprisingly TIGHT fit, an absolute minimum of wiggle. That will certainly help in accuracy. LUTH-AR was recommended by a friend, he didn't steer me wrong.
