Does what I need it to
Used these since there inception.

I started using these not long after they came out, back when they were called Lumpy plates, back when Ar15.com was an untamed mess of a website full of great information and troll-fueled arguments. I consider this a must-have add-on for mil-spec magazines. I'm an LEO weapons instructor and I run mil-spec mags for all of my personal rifles. These plates do not come off when installed properly and every magazine I have with these has never been damaged when ejected onto the range tarmac. If you run mil-spec aluminum mags, you should be running these plates.
A classy upgrade for your prosaic steel mags
by Derek Jensen -
A few years back I bought a box full of steel mags from a guy for a good deal. After inspecting the mags I saw that the mags were in various conditions, some being questionable as to their dependability to properly feed my AR. I have shot with mags before where the flat steel factory base plate had been dented, dinged or twisted and was causing a feed issue for what ever reason. With these Magpul L plates I don't run into that issue. Furthermore, they are great at protecting the magazine when you drop it out for a speed reload. I wouldn't stop with just these baseplates though, Magpul's anti-tilt follower is a must have as well.
Great addition to GI mags

I’ve started swapping my GI baseplates out to these for a little extra weight to help drop free and because my range has a lot of rock and concrete, helps them from getting so beat up. Would recommend!
