The XTM Hand Stop Kit is a lightweight, low-profile index point for improved weapon control. As a forward stop, the XTM prevents the shooter's hand from reaching the hot front sight assembly or muzzle. This four-piece kit includes one handstop, one index panel, one full XTM enhanced panel, and one XTM enhanced half panel.

Do I really need this?

When I first saw this part- I thought it was just "one more thing" to hang on my rifle but now that I've gotten used to it being on the gun, it isn't coming off. It's by Magpul so it's name speaks for itself. Buying from Primary also speaks for itself. These are the kind of folks that I'd like working for me.

This kit works exactly how I expected it to. With that said, the plastic has a different feel than that of other Magpul products. It's difficult to articulate, but the density and feel of the parts suggests that it's brittle. I can't confirm that there's any durability issue with them, it's just my first impression based on tactile feedback.

These are great for pistols. I don't like AFG so close to my body so this works well to keep my hand horizontal and in a fixed, indexed location/position. (Magpul could sell for less $ and still make profit, I'm sure. However you get what you pay for!)
Very rugged but hard to assemble

The kit provides great stop options. Beware, this stuff is hard to snap in place with just finger pressure. Use pliers to apply a little pressure at the joint to assist. Once snapped in place, they aren't going anywhere.
