Details

The Midwest Industries Combat Rail AR-15 Handguard is 100% made in America out of 6061-T6 aluminum and is type 3 hard coat anodized black. This free float handguard is 9.5” long and weighs in at 8.3 ounces with the 4140 steel barrel nut installed. Torque the barrel nut and the handguard slips right over and is tightened down against the barrel nut without any timing required making installation a breeze. The indexing tabs keep the handguard secure against the receiver to prevent rotation while firing. In addition to the full length picatinny top rail, the Combat Handguard features M-LOK slots on seven sides for plenty of room for customization to set your rifle up exactly how you want without the need of heavy picatinny rails that won’t get used. This M-LOK handguard also features two rear mount anti-rotation QD sling swivel slots.

Great rail at a great price

Extremely happy with this rail. I read alot of reviews and decided to buy one. I'm happy I did. If you want a Geissele like rail, at almost half the price, get one of these. Very easy to install, and locks up tight and very stout. A+++

Top Quality Rail

I have multiple of these rails now and plan to use them again.

It is very durable, lightweight, easy to install. The mounting system is extremely sturdy and simple. I would mount NVG lasers to this without worry of losing zero. The finish and style are top notch.

All Midwest Ind. products I've used so far have been top quality, without charging Geissele prices...

Only one issue. Over great handguard

Unfortunately I could not install this handguard on my 300 blackout pistol build. I was trying to install it onto a Wilson Combat billet upper receiver and the 2 notches would not let me properly seat the handguard. I did see on Midwest industries website that they mention this may be a problem with some billet receivers and to verify with said manufacturer to ensure fitmet but I did not see this on Primary Arms' description. It was a bit of a rookie mistake on my end but that information should also be more clear. Overall, the quality of the handguard and barrel nut seem great and I will be using this on another AR pistol build, this time with a forged upper!

Good Rail

This rail is a solid rail. Do not expect the sturdiness of a true battle rifle rail. I say this because it is marketed as a "combat" rail and I do not agree with such statement. That does not mean it is a bad rail. This has been lost since the market went to weight over toughness. With that being said, the rail is as tough as all other the mlok rails in the market. The barrel nut is the same size. There are some handguards with larger surface barrel nuts like the Aeroprecision and the Giselle. The installation is easy and the finish look is slim and aesthetically nice. I would recommend this as a home defense and/or range day stick. There are very few Mlok's that I would say are good to go to battle and able to take the beatings of falling, dropping, running and gunning.

Worth the money.

This rail was 40 to 50 more then the other rail i was going to get. It went on sale so i went with this and im glad i did. It fit perfectly and is high quality. It came with the barrel nut, barrel nut wrench, as well as an mlok rail piece and stickers. It also included the allen keys needed. The small price difference was well worth it.
