The direct impingement (DI) gas system on the AR-15 has been unchanged since the inception of the rifle, largely due to the reliability and simplicity of the design. However, most gas systems on Mil-Spec AR-15’s are over-gassed to ensure a full cycle of the bolt in any condition. This can lead to harsher felt recoil and increased muzzle rise making it difficult to take quick follow up shots. With the addition of the Odin Works adjustable gas block, you can regulate exactly how much gas impinges on the bolt carrier group reducing recoil to almost nothing. Adjustable gas blocks are extremely popular in 3 gun competition where minimal recoil is desired to increase rate of fire and stay on target. The Odin Works low profile adjustable gas block is machined from carbon steel with a black Nitride finish for high strength and heat resistance. It has an easy to reach front facing Inconel screw that allows you to fully tune your AR-15 gas system with 20 clicks of adjustment settings. Just turn clockwise to reduce gas and counter-clockwise to increase the amount of gas flow. It has a .750” diameter to fit on a wide range of barrels and uses the clamp on style for a secure fit. It also includes hex wrenches for installation or disassembly, so you can easily clean it when it gets carbon fouled. The low-profile design comes in at 1.446” in height to fit under most free float handguards.
