The One Horse SOCOM Barrel brings a mid-length gas system's smoother recoil impulse and reduced bolt carrier velocity to a 16-inch 5.56 AR-15, with the heavier SOCOM contour adding rigidity and heat capacity for sustained fire.

The mid-length gas system provides a longer dwell time and lower operating pressure than a carbine gas system on the same 16-inch barrel, producing a softer recoil impulse and less wear on the buffer system over high round counts. The 1:8 twist rate sits between the traditional 1:7 and 1:9 options, providing excellent stabilization for mid-weight 5.56 projectiles.
