The A2 pattern's closed-bottom design redirects muzzle flash and blast away from the ground in front of the shooter, a useful feature for low-light shooting where a visible flash could give away a position.

Not a bad product. Not sure, and it might be my fault, but when I tighten it down, the part that should be the bottom seems to always be on the side. Could be that the threads on the barrel are not either deep or shallow enough (I got the barrel from another third party). Maybe another washer or two might straighten it out. I have yet to test it.
Won't go on my 308 barrel

Come with washer, which is great. But it is not going on my barrel, both 308. The old flash hider was ok.
Maybe just unlucky.

The flash hider is nice but the crush washer they send with it is complete trash. Paper thin and mashed and distorted with very little torque. Come on guys at least provide a decent crush washer or not at all. Then people won’t get them stuck on their threads.
