The Retay RXP22 is a double-action/single-action hammer-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 LR, built on a hard-coat anodized FDE polymer frame with a matching FDE slide and 4-inch precision-drilled chrome-finished AISI 4140 steel barrel.

The AISI 4140 low-alloy steel barrel is precision-drilled and chrome-finished — a barrel construction approach that delivers consistent bore dimensions, superior corrosion resistance, and a service life that surpasses the typical zinc-alloy or cast barrels common in budget .22 LR pistols. The RMR/RMSC optic cut allows direct mounting of Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, and compatible micro red dots — a universal mounting plate is also included for optics outside the RMR/RMSC footprint. The TruGlo fiber optic front sight provides a fast, bright aiming point in natural light, and the target-style adjustable rear sight allows for windage and elevation correction. The ambidextrous manual safety is accessible from both sides for left- and right-hand use. The reversible magazine release accommodates either hand without modification. The integrated Picatinny rail on the dustcover accepts lights and lasers. The hard-coat anodized polymer frame provides lightweight toughness and a secure, textured grip.
