The M-1911 GI standard is a great modern recreation of the original US GI military issued 1911. It is chambered in 45 ACP and constructed to Rock Island's precise engineering demands. The low profile fixed sights are faithful to the original M1911 design; and the Rock Island M1911 GI Standard features a rough and ready parkerized finish for a tough, smooth, non-reflective surface. The smooth wood grips are comfortable for extended range sessions while helping absorb the recoil of the 45 ACP round.

The 5” barrel is the same length as the original M1911 design. On the Rock Island M1911 GI Standard, the barrel is precisely mated to the slide and locking lugs for high levels out of accuracy out of the gun. Like all Rock Island 1911s, the GI Standard 1911 comes with an awesome 4-6 pound trigger. The single action trigger has a clean break that helps the shooter's accuracy by guaranteeing a surprise break every time. The magazine well is the same profile as the original GI 1911, and accepts all 1911 pattern magazines.
