The Ruger M77 Hawkeye Standard in .30-06 Springfield puts one of America's most enduring hunting cartridges into a classic blued and walnut long-action bolt rifle. The .30-06 remains the standard by which all-around North American hunting cartridges are measured — effective on deer, elk, and bear at practical field distances — and the Hawkeye delivers it in a 7-pound package that carries as well as it shoots.
The Ruger M77 Hawkeye Standard is a long-action bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, built on a satin blued steel receiver with a 22-inch hammer-forged satin blued steel barrel and a fixed American walnut stock.
The LC6 trigger provides a crisp, consistent single-stage pull for clean shot breaks in the field. The Mauser-style controlled-round feed extractor grips the cartridge from the moment it leaves the magazine, maintaining positive control through the entire feed cycle — a feed system preferred by hunters pursuing dangerous or large-bodied game where a second shot needs to cycle without hesitation. The integral scope bases on the receiver provide a solid, low-profile optics mounting foundation without aftermarket bases. The three-position safety allows the bolt to be locked, cycled, or fired — useful for safely unloading after a hunt without dry-firing. The American walnut stock features checkering at the grip and forend, front and rear sling studs, and a slim contoured forend for a natural, balanced hold. The hinged floorplate is released via a tab inside the trigger guard and feeds from a 4-round internal box magazine.
