The San Tan Tactical STT Forged AR-15 Receiver Set includes a stripped forged lower receiver and a stripped upper receiver, both machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with hardcoat anodize finish in black. The lower is marked multi-cal with standard safe/fire selector markings. Both receivers are stripped and ready for component installation.

Forged aluminum receivers have been the manufacturing standard for military AR-15/M16 components since the platform's adoption — not because forging is the only method that produces a functional receiver, but because the forging process aligns the grain structure of the aluminum along the stress axes of the part, producing a component that is inherently stronger and more fatigue resistant at the critical stress points — the buffer tube threads, the pivot and takedown pin holes, the trigger group pocket — than receivers machined from billet or produced by casting.
