Seekins Needs to Re-Think Some Things
by Thomas -
Very nice hand guard, but the assembly instructions are ABYSMAL! I've built a ton of ARs with many different hand guards, but this one was something else!! The instructions were written very small and hard to follow. Alignment of the barrel nut and the gas tube was very difficult. Alignment of the hex head screws to the barrel nut also proved very difficult. Although I had followed those hard-to-follow instructions to the proverbial, "T," I had to test fit several times and then I was not happy with alignment of the screws with the threaded holes in the barrel nut and the beveled holes in the hand guard. I was really worried I had stripped the threaded holes on 3/8, but I was able to finally drive the hex head screws home. Way more difficult that it needed to be!! Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth, not to mention the expletives!!!
BEST HANDGUARD FOR TUCKING SUPPRESSORS
by Kane
These handguards are based on the original Spike's Tactical BAR quad rails. If you have large hands and want a handguard that fills the hand well or you want to use a short barrel and tuck your suppressor, this handguard is perfect. You do have to time this two-piece design barrel nut properly and it takes a little mechanical skill or simple trial and error like the struggle expressed in Thomas' 2020 review here. I recommend that you use either Seekins' iRMT-R or Aero's M4E1 Enhanced upper receiver which have the BAR mount integrated and come with their own barrel nut. This gives a super strong handguard mount that doesn't need timing and allows you to remove the handguard without disturbing your barrel nut in any way. This is an excellent pairing especially with suppressors and its 1.8" ID houses most of the fattest suppressors in the market. I have 5 of these receiver/handguard pairs and only once used the two-piece barrel nut with a standard receiver for my dad's build.
