The SIG Sauer M400 SDI is a 5.56 NATO AR pistol with an 11.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, ambidextrous controls, and a Magpul BSL pistol stabilizing brace in Flat Dark Earth.

SIG developed the M400 SDI with input from the instructors at SIG SAUER Academy. The lower receiver adds a bolt catch and release that works from either side, and the free-floating handguard uses a steel lockup design that reduces handguard deflection and lets you attach accessories on all four sides without affecting accuracy.

The 2-stage Matchlite Duo trigger delivers a crisp 4.5 to 6.5 pound pull with a flat blade for a precision feel. A carbine-length gas system with a low-profile gas block and the Magpul BSL brace make the pistol compact, controllable, and ready for home defense or range work. SIG lists the pistol at about 30 inches long and 5.9 pounds.
