Smith & Wesson's Model 1854 joins a time-honored lever-action design to modern engineering. The Armornite finish on the barrel and forged receiver resists corrosion, the flat trigger breaks crisply, and a gold bead front sight stays visible beneath the scope. The rifle uses a 1:20 twist and holds six rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber.
The scope arrives mounted and ready, and the Crossfire HD 2-7x32's low power range suits hunting at close to moderate distances, while its compact size sits low enough to clear the ejection path. The .45-70 Government is a classic big-bore cartridge with a long record on deer, hogs, and larger game. The threaded muzzle accepts a muzzle device or suppressor where legal.
Smith & Wesson introduced the Model 1854 in January 2024, its first lever-action firearm in 170 years. The company builds handguns, rifles, and accessories for hunters, defenders, and sport shooters.
