Note: Please note this dust cover can not be installed if a handguard is installed as the handguard will interfere with the installation of the pin.

I tried to install the dust cover and discovered that the detent is too tall and does not allow the door to be closed, I have had this happen with these dust covers from multiple companies and vendors. It's not really anybody's fault there is just some tolerance in these mass produced parts. The good part is that I emailed primary arms about the problem and they responded very quickly and offered me store credit so that I can order a replacement due to the fact that this one is currently out of stock. Primary arms is a stand up outfit and you can order with confidence knowing that they will correct any issues you might have.

Came with everything except the C-clip. Better stick to anderson or another reputable brand.

I bought this cover to match the absolutely beautiful matte black hardcoat of SOLGW Upper Receiver that I recently purchased. Well it doesn't match very well, it does not have the same finish.
I was thinking I'll just leave that cover on and when I find something else that matches much closer I would just switch it. Unfortunately I realized the fact it had a proprietary hinge pin, that I thought was pretty inventive by not needing to have a "C" clip, would now require me to take the handguard off to change. I realize people do not change the port cover door very often so the inconvenience of taking off the handguard would be negligible and advantage of it on a stripped build is outstanding to guys like me with sausage fingers, so yeah I hate the "C" clip. The proprietary hinge pin should however be mention and shown on theirs and Primary Arms website.

I asked if this would match the beautiful finish on the SOLGW upper I had just gotten. Unfortunately it doesn't, the upper has a rich black-matte finish, this actually looks parkerized. Lose ½ a star. The best feature of this Port door Cover Kit is it doesn’t require a “C” clip to shoot across room... I mean install. The hinge pin uses a knurled end to retain it, though to change door the handguard must be removed (how often that need to happen). Lose another ½ star for not being in description.
