The Sons of Liberty Gun Works Broadsword L89A is a 14.5-inch .223 Wylde barreled upper receiver featuring the L89 13.75-inch M-LOK rail with Drivelock barrel nut, Liberty Fighting Barrel, SOLGW 4140 steel gas block, and nitrided gas tube in a forged upper receiver. No muzzle device, BCG, or charging handle included.

Four features define the L89A's performance and compatibility advantage. The Drivelock barrel nut system with anti-rotation tabs and internal dowel pin between the upper and rail provides a rigid, repeatable lockup that minimizes point-of-impact shifts for laser systems and other VAS attached to the handguard — a critical stability feature for duty builds where the handguard carries mission-critical aiming lasers. The L89 rail's 7-sided M-LOK slots provide versatile, direct accessory mounting across the handguard, and integral QD sling mounts at the barrel nut on both left and right sides provide sling attachment without separate hardware. The 14.5-inch Liberty Fighting Barrel in .223 Wylde accommodates both .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO ammunition, maximizing ammunition flexibility without sacrificing accuracy. The 'no muzzle device' configuration allows the builder to install any 1/2x28 muzzle device — including pinned-and-welded options to meet 16-inch OAL requirements — without first removing a factory-installed device.
