The Sons of Liberty Gun Works Liberty Fighting Barrel is an 11.5-inch 5R-rifled AR-15 barrel chambered in .223 Wylde, built from 41v50 chrome moly steel with a chrome-lined bore and phosphate exterior finish for duty-grade durability and broad ammunition compatibility.

Four specifications define the Liberty Fighting Barrel's performance advantage. The .223 Wylde chamber accepts both 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem ammunition without the pressure concerns of a 5.56 chamber or the accuracy limitations of a .223 Rem chamber, making it the most versatile choice for an AR-15 fighting barrel. Chrome lining in the bore provides significantly better corrosion and erosion resistance than bare steel, extending barrel life under high-volume use and simplifying bore maintenance in the field. 5R rifling geometry reduces bullet deformation compared to traditional 6-groove rifling, improving consistency and reducing the fouling accumulation that standard rifling patterns can accelerate. The DLC-coated barrel extension adds a low-friction, hard-wearing surface at the critical interface between barrel and bolt.
