Mid-length gas and a chrome-lined bore in the most versatile barrel length for a fighting AR-15. The Sons of Liberty Gun Works P3 Fighting Barrel at 14.5 inches delivers the improved cycling characteristics of a mid-length gas system with 41v50 chrome moly construction and a chrome-lined bore — a combination that keeps the rifle running through sustained strings of fire.
The Sons of Liberty Gun Works P3 Fighting Barrel is a 14.5-inch AR-15 barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, built from 41v50 chrome moly steel with a chrome-lined bore and phosphate exterior on a mid-length gas system for improved reliability and reduced felt recoil compared to carbine-length equivalents.
Three qualities make this barrel the right choice for a serious 14.5-inch AR-15 build. The mid-length gas system provides a longer dwell time and lower cyclic rate than a carbine gas system on the same barrel length, resulting in softer bolt carrier velocity, reduced felt recoil, and less wear on the bolt and buffer system over a high round count. 41v50 chrome moly steel handles the sustained pressure and thermal demands of a fighting rifle chambering without the accelerated wear that lower-grade barrel steel can exhibit under volume fire. Chrome lining extends bore life and corrosion resistance, keeping the barrel serviceable through the kind of weather, humidity, and neglect that field conditions can impose.
Compatible with mil-spec AR-15 lowers and mid-length gas systems. 5/8x24 threaded muzzle. .750-inch gas block journal.
41v50 chrome moly steel. Chrome-lined bore, phosphate exterior. 1:7 twist. Medium contour.
Suited for duty rifles, short-barreled AR-15 builds with a pinned and welded muzzle device, patrol rifle configurations, and any 14.5-inch build requiring mid-length gas reliability.
