Nitride finishing adds an additional layer of surface hardness and corrosion protection over the bare stainless, extending the barrel's service life in harsh environments where moisture and fouling accelerate wear. The 3-groove polygonal rifling geometry — developed from SOLGW's SPR Match barrel — reduces the friction between bore and projectile, minimizes point of impact shifts between ammunition types, and decreases fouling accumulation compared to conventional cut rifling.
