Springfield built the TRP for the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team in the late 1990s, and the same hands-on approach carries through today: a forged slide and frame hand-selected for fit, a match-grade barrel, 20 LPI checkering and top slide serrations that cut glare, and an extended, flared magwell for fast reloads on most versions.

Springfield offers the TRP in .45 ACP and 9mm, with 4.25-inch and 5-inch barrels, in black, Coyote, and FDE finishes, and in Classic, Light Rail, Carry Contour, Operator, and Service Stainless versions.
