The Springfield Echelon 4.0C is a compact-frame 9mm striker-fired pistol with a 4-inch hammer-forged barrel, factory-installed Aimpoint COA via A-CUT slide interface, small grip module, and Central Operating Group chassis, shipping with a 15-round flush and 18-round extended magazine.

Four features define the 4.0C's compact carry advantage. The shortened 4-inch barrel and compact frame reduce overall length to 7.25 inches and weight to 23.9 ounces with the flush magazine, providing the carry-optimized dimensions that make the 4.0C more practical for concealed carry than the full-size 4.5-inch model without sacrificing the Echelon platform's core capabilities. The Aimpoint A-CUT direct slide interface mounts the COA closed-emitter optic without adapter plates, maintaining the same tolerance-reduction and height advantage as the full-size model in a compact slide package. The Central Operating Group is a self-contained, serialized fire control chassis enabling frame swaps across grip module sizes — meaning the 4.0C's small grip module can be replaced with a medium module to adjust fit without changing the serialized component. A 15-round flush magazine and 18-round extended magazine ship with the pistol, providing both carry and high-capacity configurations in the box.
