The SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders protect your hearing without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. The triple-flanged stem design fits larger ear canals and provides a Noise Reduction Rating of 24.
Safe sound levels can pass through into the ear canal, while harmful noises (above 85 dB) are reduced via a proprietary design that incorporates a special noise-reducing filter. EP4s include attached filter caps, which can be inserted for additional protection and blocking out lower-level noise, like that heard on a plane, where hearing ambient sounds or conversations isn't critical.
Right/left color-coded Sonic Defenders are made from a soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer that provides all-day comfort and an extended product life (up to 6+ months, depending on usage and care). Their patented EarLock retention rings lock the earplugs in place, while soft, adjustable triple-flanged stems provide secure seals in the ear canals. A low-profile design means EP4s can be worn while wearing a helmet or mask, or while using a phone or headset.

So far all I was able to do was try them on and they are comfortable. Haven't tested them yet at the range, the reason for the average rating.

Carry anywhere hearing protection

Perfect fit, light weight and no batteries mean these little guys can go in your range bag or vehicle and you never do without.Made great stocking stuffers as well.

Ita a good product, I was just unaware that they are not a long term solution. They company says that they will last about 6 months, but I bet they will go longer and at this price, that is still ok with me.

I wouldn't wear them at the range but to have in your go bag for a SHTF situation, they'll really help.

I purchased the Surefire EP4 sonic defenders because I needed some new ear protection for shooting. Comfortable to wear and don't get in the way. Primary Arms had a great deal and shipping was fast.

I love these things. They allow you to get a perfect cheek weld unlike traditional over the ear protection and provide adequate sound reduction. I went with size Medium and they fit well.

I like these much better than wearing ear muffs. For me, these are just as good and they don't get in the way.As always, Primary Arms is a great company to do business with.
Sonic Defenders Plus

I have always used muffs of some kind, and recently purchased a set of Howard Leight muffs which are awesome. However, they are bulky. Thats where these come in. No trouble shouldering the rifle anymore, and no loud noises. Will buy these again.
