The Taylor's & Company 1892 Alaskan Takedown reimagines Browning's proven 1892 lever action for modern hunting and field use — a 16-inch octagonal matte chrome barrel, take-down design for compact transport, Skinner-style peep sight with fiber optic front, drilled and tapped for Scout Mount optics, and a rubberized black soft-touch stock with anti-shock rubber buttpad, in a .357 Magnum platform tuned specifically for Hornady LeveRevolution ammunition.

The Taylor's & Company 1892 Alaskan Takedown is a lever-action .357 Magnum rifle with a 16-inch octagonal matte chrome steel barrel, matte chrome receiver and triggerguard, and black rubberized walnut stock and forend with rubber buttpad. Capacity: 7+1 rounds. Sights: Skinner-style peep rear with dovetail fiber optic front. Barrel is drilled and tapped for Scout Mount optics and Weaver 61 bases. Overall length: 34 inches. Weight: 5.9 lbs. Take-down design. Manufactured by Chiappa for Taylor's & Company.

The Alaskan Takedown's take-down design is the feature that separates it from a standard lever-action rifle in field applications — the barrel assembly detaches from the receiver quickly for transport in a pack, vehicle, or backpack, allowing a full-length 34-inch rifle to be broken down to a fraction of that for carry and reassembled rapidly when needed. The matte chrome finish on the barrel, receiver, and triggerguard provides corrosion resistance appropriate for the wet, humid, and coastal environments that inspired the Alaskan name — chrome resists rust under conditions that would affect a blued steel finish, making this the correct configuration for hunters and guides operating in rain, coastal mist, and harsh outdoor conditions. The action is specifically tuned for Hornady LeveRevolution ammunition, which uses flexible polymer-tipped bullets that allow pointed, higher-BC projectiles to be safely used in the tubular magazine of a lever-action rifle — expanding the .357 Magnum's effective range and terminal performance beyond what traditional flat or round-nose lever-action loads can deliver. The Skinner-style peep rear sight provides a faster, more precise sight picture than a traditional buckhorn rear by using a small aperture that naturally centers the front sight in the shooter's eye without conscious effort, and the drilled and tapped receiver accepts Scout Mount and Weaver 61 bases for optic mounting without modification. The soft-touch rubberized stock provides a secure grip in wet conditions and reduces felt recoil. At 5.9 pounds and 34 inches overall, the Alaskan Takedown is among the most packable and lightest-handling lever-action rifles available in a full-power hunting configuration.

Caliber: .357 Magnum. Barrel: 16-inch octagonal, matte chrome steel, 1:18.75 RH twist, 6 grooves. Receiver: matte chrome steel. Capacity: 7+1. Sights: Skinner peep rear, dovetail fiber optic front. Optics: drilled and tapped for Scout Mount and Weaver 61. Stock: black rubberized walnut, soft-touch finish. Buttpad: anti-shock rubber. Action: lever, take-down. Overall length: 34 inches. Weight: 5.9 lbs. Ammunition: tuned for Hornady LeveRevolution. Manufacturer: Chiappa for Taylor's & Company.

Take-down design breaks the rifle down for pack and vehicle carry, reassembles quickly for field use. Matte chrome finish resists corrosion in wet and coastal environments where blued steel would require constant maintenance. Action tuned for Hornady LeveRevolution pointed-tip ammunition for extended effective range over traditional flat-nose lever loads. Skinner peep sight provides faster, more precise aperture aiming than buckhorn rear. Drilled and tapped for Scout Mount and Weaver 61 optic bases.

The right lever-action for hunters and field users who want a compact, weather-resistant .357 Magnum take-down rifle with modern sighting and optic mounting capability — 5.9 lbs, 34-inch overall length, tuned for LeveRevolution, matte chrome throughout.
