The Tipton Deluxe Carbon Fiber Cleaning Rod is a 44-inch .27-.45 caliber carbon fiber bore cleaning rod featuring a double-bearing handle that allows the shaft to follow the rifling during both push and pull strokes, with shank-through construction for hammer-blow capability and compatibility with standard interchangeable jags, bore mops, slotted tips, and brushes.

Four features define the Deluxe's advantage over steel and coated rods. Carbon fiber cannot scratch the bore like stainless steel can under careless use, and unlike coated rods it does not embed small abrasive particles into its surface that effectively run fine-grit sandpaper through the bore every subsequent cleaning — the critical failure mode of coated rods that ruins barrels over years of regular cleaning. Two sets of high-quality ball bearings in the handle allow the shaft to freely rotate and follow the rifling during both push and pull strokes even under pressure, producing the rifling-following action that prevents the cleaning tip from dragging against the same groove wall on every pass.
