These base pads work with factory magazines and convert any Ruger MKIII magazine into a Ruger MK IV 22/45 magazine.

The MK IV Magazine Release allows the magazine to sit higher in the frame. Feeding is improved as the bolt is prevented from sliding over the round in the magazine. Knurled for both aesthetic and feel, the MK IV 22/45 Magazine release ensures a better feel in each shot. This release will work with factory magazines due to the magazine being raised, but Volquartsen recommends using the Magazine Release in conjunction with the Volquartsen Magazine Base Pads.
