Machined from 6005A-T5 aircraft aluminum, the Wilson Combat M-LOK Handguard pairs a strong, lightweight build with a slim top rail that leaves room for optics and accessories without adding bulk. M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions on the hand rest provide additional mounting space for lights, grips, and other gear, and the included barrel nut is built to stay stable and secure so the rifle holds its accuracy over time. A 1.350-inch internal diameter and hard anodized black finish round out the construction, giving the handguard a clean, low-profile look on the rifle. This handguard measures 15" in length. The manufacturer recommends a 16" or longer barrel to clear the front of the rail.
Wilson Combat has spent decades manufacturing precision rifles, pistols, and components for competition shooters, hunters, and professionals who demand accuracy and reliability. Their AR-15 handguards carry the same attention to fit and finish found across their firearms line.

Maybe not your first choice, but a must have if you build.

I’ve probably installed at least 15 of these. The rifles I am am always doing r&d with have this handguard as it’s easy to switch out, and the barrel nut doesn’t get worn out. You should be able to use the included shim with either side of the barrel nut for desired results. If you have various thickness shims, you are a pro at this already. This is not most secure handguard for putting all your fake soldier tactical larp gear on. For what it is tho, it’s great. Wish they still made the 13.8”.
Nice and Lightweight, but...

I bought this for my budget build. Nice and lightweight. The issue was mounting to the barrel nut. The handguard mounting screw holes are on both sides, and you have to time the barrel nut perfectly in order for the screws to be lined up, and for the pic rail to be straight with the receiver. Included 1 tiny shim, but it didn't even do anything. I couldn't leave it not torqued, and ended up having to grind out the slots for the screws on both sides so i could twist the handguard to it's proper place and get the screws in.
