The Wilson Combat EDC X9 represents the most extensive design and development project in Wilson Combat's history — a purpose-built double-stack 9mm that delivers classic 1911 ergonomics, a match-grade trigger, and 15-round capacity in a platform designed from the ground up for modern carry and duty use. The full-size 5-inch configuration maximizes sight radius and velocity while maintaining the handling characteristics that define the EDC X9 line.

The Wilson Combat EDC X9 is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger, built on a billet 7075-T6 aluminum X-Frame with a 416R stainless steel slide and 5-inch match-grade 416R stainless barrel, finished in black Armor-Tuff.

The X-Frame is precision-machined in-house at Wilson Combat's Berryville, Arkansas facility to hold a double-stack 15-round magazine while maintaining a grip circumference and profile closer to a traditional 1911 than most double-stack platforms. There is no grip safety — the external spring-loaded extractor handles consistent extraction across all ammunition types and conditions, while the tapered-cone bushingless barrel system eliminates a traditional 1911 failure point. X-TAC front and rear backstrap texturing provides a non-abrasive but highly secure hold, and the slightly flared magazine well aids fast reloads under stress. The 15-round Mec-Gar magazine was developed in collaboration with Wilson Combat specifically for the EDC X9 platform for service-grade reliability. VZ G10 Starburst grip panels with embedded Wilson Combat medallions are proprietary to the X-Frame and available in multiple colors. The Battlesight rear with fiber optic front gives a fast, usable sight picture. Trigger pull breaks cleanly at 3½ to 4½ lbs with no takeup or overtravel. Two 15-round Mec-Gar magazines are included.

Chambered in 9mm Luger with a 5-inch 416R stainless match-grade tapered-cone barrel. Frame is billet 7075-T6 aluminum, Armor-Tuff black. Slide is 416R stainless, Armor-Tuff black, with X-TAC front and rear cocking serrations. Sights are fiber optic front and Battlesight rear. Thumb safety is single-side. Trigger pull is 3½–4½ lbs.
