Details

The Ballistic Advantage Premium Series barrels are machined from 416R stainless steel and have a recessed 11-degree target crown. With a uniform bead blasted finish, these barrels are made specifically for the discerning marksman. Every Ballistic Advantage barrel is guaranteed to give sub Minute of Angle accuracy with match grade ammunition.

This 22" Heavy contour barrel matches DPMS pattern bolts and features a gently tapered profile that helps improve the balance of the completed rifle. Chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor, Magnetic Particle Inspected, and proof fired, this barrel is what you want if you are looking to maximize the accuracy of your large frame AR. Using the same standard .308 components with this new barrel allows you to take advantage of the inherent accuracy of the 6.5 mm bullet with 33% less felt recoil, improved ballistics, and better energy retention past 300 yards.

Note: This heavy barrel requires a .936" gas block.

Nice heavy 6.5 Creedmoor barrel.

This is one heavy barrel, and it needs a 0.936" gas block. The machining quality looks excellent, the headspace checks out with Manson Precision Go and No Go gauges when used with an Aero Precision nitrided 308 bolt carrier group. I have not test fired it yet, am waiting for factory ammo on order. Hornady and Winchester factory loads chamber properly; however, neck-sized reloads prepared for a Ruger Precision bolt action in 6.5 CM will not chamber in this BA barrel. So it has a tighter chamber than the RPR, which is probably a good thing for accuracy, but full-length resizing of brass will be required, as is typical for semi-auto ARs. I expect to see well under 1 MOA with this barrel.
