Aero Precision AR-15 BAR Barrel Nut

Currently waiting for more shims because the type of barrel i have is 1/8 from not needing any shime but the torque is maxed and when u put all 8 on it is off by a 1/4 in there for needing 10 shims just to perfectly aline the gas tube and screws! Other then this problem great barrel nut

This part was out of stock for a while. I needed it to install my Aero Precision Enhanced Gen2 15" Handguard. First off, you need the correct tools.

1. Buy a good bench vise and make sure you have vice block for your upper. I used the Magpul vise block. Worked perfectly.
2. Buy an armorers wrench that fits the barrel nut. Most do not, the Magpul wrench doesn't fit and Aero Precision even says this on their site. I bought the Truglo wrench which fits perfectly.
3. Make sure you have a 1/2" torque wrench. I installed with 3 shims (provided) and torqued to around 45 FT Lbs. I also installed with a low profile Aero Precision .750 gas block. Indexed spot on with a very slight adjustment. The gas tube fit perfectly.
4. I installed a new Aero Precision muzzle brake as well. I used a heavy duty crescent wrench and new crush washer. Gas ports facing up and label on the bottom.

Very happy with the finished job. Just take your time and you won't have any issues. Hope this helps someone else.

So I was a little annoyed that the Quantum Handguard didn't come with a barrel nut, that's my bad as I didn't read it closely. I then ordered this barrel nut, received it and of course the "included" barrel shims are missing from the package. Which of course makes this useless. Contacted customer service and waiting to hear back. So, my build is going to take two weeks longer than it should've to complete 2/2 this system. I went ahead and ordered some shims off Amazon, because I didn't want to wait another week because hunting season is upon us and I need to get this done.

Work as it should high quality very solid barrel nut.

Typical Aero Precision excellent fit and finish. Have used on all my builds so far.

The barrel nut is great. Super easy to install and get lined up. I’ve built a few ARs and normally would just but completed uppers. Due to everything being so hard to get, this build I put together everything from scratch and by going with this nut and an Areo Handguard everything lined up perfectly. I will be building both the uppers and lowers from now on

This was designed to attach an Aero Precision Quantum hand guard to a threaded upper receiver. It needs screws to do that but they do not appear to come with it. Aero P makes a separate screw pack.
