Aero Precision AR-15 BAR Barrel Nut

Use some lubricant to get the rail over the barrel nut (or else it will be REALLY difficult to get off). Besides that, very solid barrel nut.

This is a solid barrel nut but does have room for improvement. The barrel nut only has 4 holes for the gas tube. This can be a pain when trying to get proper torque while also lining it up with the gas tube. It does come with shims, just be sure you can devote some time to getting it right. Having barrel grease, an upper vise block, and a vise are essential. Second main issue (for when you do put and Aero handguard on this) you should use thread lock if you want the eight screws to stay put. I recommend the orange thread lock. Blue will melt off and red will force you to use a heat gun and still probably have to drill a few stubborn ones out if you ever need to get to the gas block.

This was designed to attach an Aero Precision Quantum hand guard to a threaded upper receiver. It needs screws to do that but they do not appear to come with it. Aero P makes a separate screw pack.

The barrel nut is great. Super easy to install and get lined up. I’ve built a few ARs and normally would just but completed uppers. Due to everything being so hard to get, this build I put together everything from scratch and by going with this nut and an Areo Handguard everything lined up perfectly. I will be building both the uppers and lowers from now on
