The Aero Precision M4E1 Stripped AR-15 Lower Receiver is a fantastic foundation for a new AR-15 build. This lower receiver is machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum and has an enhanced forging to deliver billet aesthetics in a forged package. Anodized black, it is compatible with all Mil-Spec AR-15 parts, including standard AR-15 components and magazines.
With a threaded bolt catch roll pin, the installation of the bolt catch is simpler, and it virtually eliminates the possibility of damage to the receiver finish during installation. The pin is included, and a 1/16" Hex Key is required for assembly. An integrated trigger guard eliminates the possibility of breaking the trigger guard tabs, and the rear takedown pin detent hole is threaded for a 4-40 set screw for easy installation of the takedown pin detent and spring.
Additionally, the Aero Precision M4E1 Stripped AR-15 Lower Receiver has an upper tension screw inserted in the grip tang of the lower receiver, which provides a fine tune adjustment for the fit of the upper and lower receiver. It also has a nylon-tipped tensioning set screw and an increased magwell flare that aids in quick and efficient magazine changes. This lower receiver is marked and milled to accept short-throw safety selectors, but it will work with standard selectors as well.

The Best Stuff!!

These lowers are phenomenal! Just built a 556 with a 10.5 inch barrel. It came out way better than I expected. I would love to do another one and hopefully I will do so soon!

This lower is amazing! Took me no time to build. It was my first build (thank you youtube videos...) and it works great! Looking forward to go try it at the range on my AR15 pistol, as soon as I find ammo :-). I will definitely buy again...
Phenomenal receiver with great features

This a solid lower with a pleasing look and some great features. Starting a pistol build and having the threaded pin for the bolt catch and the set screw for the rear take-down pin make this a cinch to build. Also, having the set screw to stiffen the lock-up between the upper and lower. Aero hit it out the park with these! Definitely will be using these in future builds!
Obvious blem

This would be a five-star review if it was based only on price, availability, and the Aero design, which are all great. Unfortunately, the receiver came with an area of missing anodizing and/or white corrosion. It takes up a little more than half of the underside of the bump above the mag catch. It doesn't affect function, so I'll deal with it, but this blemish is far worse than I've seen on the Aero receivers advertised and sold as blems.

Excellent machining, fit, finish. Easy to assemble. Large mag well flare. I personally like the styling. It is much nicer than my Anderson's in nearly every way. To me its worth the extra $ for most builds.
The quality upholds to Aero Precisions' high standards; as have all their products have for me so far.

This was the first part I ordered for my 1st-ever AR build. I really didn't know too much about building a carbine, but I was fortunate to come across this product which happened to be in stock at the time. This turned out to be one of the best parts I purchased for my build. It's solid quality and it was a straightforward install. I have purchased additional Aero products as a result - highly recommended!
Won’t buy any other lower

The fit and super easy installation was amazing. Will never buy a different lower. I didn’t need any punches or tools beside a cheap tool kit to install a complete lower. Borrowed an armors wrench to tighten the castle but even that wasn’t totally necessary. The set screw for the mag catch is brilliant and the fixed trigger guard is spacious and smooth. A great price, and no reason to buy any other lower unless you need something specific.
Stripped Bolt Catch Pin

When I was assembling, the slot where the bolt catch rests, which is also where the well that the detent and detent spring lies, seemed to be too narrow for the detent spring. I noticed this after the part was assembled as the spring pressure did not allow the bolt catch to rest securely and would cause malfunctions of the rifle during use. To my demise, I found the screw to be completely stripped even when using the correct allen wrench and not overtightening the screw. Because of this, I am unable to adjust the detent spring and my entire lower receiver is left inoperable.
I am extremely disappointed in such an overlooked flaw of the product and do not count on Aero's customer service as they have a 6-8 week waiting period before they will respond to a warranty quote.

What a difference the threaded version of the Aero lower makes when installing the bolt catch vs the roll pin version. It's kind of like cheating a bit but makes the process much faster. I will be buying more in the future from Aero Precision. Great Company and fast deliveries from Primary Arms.
Awesome lower!

Used Areo ME41 lower for my first AR build and couldn’t be happier. Fit and finish is excellent. Had no assembly issues. Paired with ME41 upper, Aero BCG, BA .223 Wylde fluted SS barrel, and Atlas S-One mid length hand guard for one sweet looking and firing rifle. Ran absolutely flawless right from the start and dead nuts at 50 and 100yrds. The rifle is better than I am for sure. Big fan of Aero and Primary Arms. You can’t go wrong with either.
