Best slim and lightweight handguard for the money.

I have the 15" version of this on my AR15 and love how narrow and light weight it is. When I ordered this DPMS AR-10 size I was expecting a larger diameter handguard but this is the same diameter as my ar15 version so I was pleasantly surprised. These rails are great, easy to install, and seem to be durable so far.

I mounted this on an Aero 308 upper. The barrel I had was not from PA...might have had something to do with the barrel nut tightening down so that the holes did not line up for tightening the handguard on to the barrel nut. They were a hair off to the "tight side". Meaning, I had to screw the bolts in to get them through to the other side. Fortunately, the bolts were lined up for the nuts to tighten down. So, the guard is tight... that ended up working out. The dust cover rod (Aero) was about 1/16" short. It was not long enough to rest in the notch of the handguard, which I assume was to assist in preventing rotation/keeping the pin in. I clipped a small bit of copper house wire and put that in the receiver hole that the dust cover rod went in. That made it the perfect length. This guard also had a small "U" shaped piece that went over the gas tube...so, I don't think it will rotate easily.

I took a chance on buying this low cost handguard just so I could finish up this 308 build. And I am so glad I did, because this thing was easy to install and looks great. Aero M5 upper and lower and this handguard.
